The York County Republican Party is pleased to welcome Ohio Governor John Kasich for lunch meeting and policy discussion Monday, June 15 at 12:00 at Beef O’Brady’s in Fort Mill.
Gov. Kasich is in his second term as Ohio’s governor, having won all but two counties in his landslide 64% - 33% reelection victory in 2014. Previously, he represented Ohio’s 12th Congressional District in the US House from 1983 – 2001. When Republicans retook control of the House in 1995, Kasich was named Chairman of the Budget Committee, and shepherded the landmark Balanced Budget Act of 1997 to passage. In his time as Chairman of the Budget Committee, the federal budget went from a $163 billion deficit to a $236 billion surplus. After retiring from the House in 2001, Kasich became the host of Heartland with John Kasich on Fox News.
