​Political opinions, once nothing more than a semi-private, personal choice-have become a liability. One social media post could end your career, break off relationships, cost you a grade, or even cost you your life in today’s cancel culture. 

The bold say the name of Trump loudly-whether in support or opposition-while the peacemakers often avoid the name entirely, afraid of the possible consequences.

As a young woman, I’ve been advised not to even wear the color red on campus out of concern for my safety because, yes, people have been physically attacked for wearing red hats that were in no way related to our current president.  READ MORE
